Cleansing Crystals With Sunlight
Crystals charging in the sun
One way some people choose to cleanse crystals is by sunlight.
The idea behind this method is simple; crystals are put in the sun for a period of time, usually on a windowsill or in a sunny spot in the garden
Some people prefer to use indirect sunlight, rather than direct, to reduce the risk of damage.
Not all crystals can be put in the sun.
There are some crystals that can fade over time if they’re left in direct sunlight for too long, such as, Amethyst, Carnelian, Citrine, Fluorite & Rose Quartz.
Many people prefer using sunlight for short periods or putting the crystals somewhere they won’t be in direct sunlight for a few hours at a time.
Certain crystal shapes can focus sunlight through glass in the same way a magnifying glass can, so it’s best not to leave crystals on a sunny windowsill for too long.
If you do choose to use sunlight, be aware of the crystal type, the strength of the sun & how long they are put in the sun.
I personally use other methods to cleanse my crystals, but many people use it as part of their crystal care routine.
