Cleansing Crystals with Salt

Crystals cleansing in salt

One method some people use to cleanse crystals is by using salt.

The idea is the salt gets rid of negativity.

Put enough salt in the bottom of a bowl to cover it, put the crystals in the bowl & cover them with the salt, leave for twenty four hours.

Make sure you get all the salt off the crystals when you take them out of the bowl & throw the salt away.

Please Note: This isn’t suitable for all crystals, because salt can be scratch the surface of certain crystals, it can also discolour them if they’re left in salt for too long.

Salt can get into small cracks in the crystal, which can be hard to get rid of afterwards.

Delicate, layered, porous or softer crystals shouldn’t be cleansed using salt.

Crystals that shouldn’t be put in salt are; Azurite can break down or fade, Desert Rose is soft & easily damaged, Halite dissolves in salt, Hematite can rust, Lepidolite can become fragile & flake, Malachite is soft & can be scratched, Marcasite can dissolve, Pyrite can rust, Satin Spar & Selenite are soft & can dissolve.

If you’re in any doubt about using salt to cleanse your crystals, then I suggest using a different method.
